Wilder happy to have more time to prepare for Valiants
United have a blank weekend ahead of them with their game at Port Vale switched to Monday evening (7.45pm) for the SKY cameras.
It's a chance to impress on TV, but for manager Chris Wilder it is also a chance for a little more breathing space as players come back from injury.
"It doesn't hurt to have a couple of extra days" Chris told Yellow Player. "We will prepare properly as we always do, but it might just give a couple of injured players that little bit more time that they need."
United had no fewer than eleven players injured ahead of the JPT win at Cheltenham on Tuesday night, but are starting to get important players fit again, something the manager is delighted to see:
"Lee Cox joined training again today, Andy Whing is with us again and Alfie Potter trained, so those three are in my thoughts for Monday, and Johnny Mullins will be available again so we will have one or two more options."
There was further good news from the training ground, as Chris acknowledged:
"It was good to see Jon-Paul Pittman, Michael Duberry and Liam Davis out on the training pitches again as well. You look at people like Whing, Duberry and Peter Leven and they are all big players for us, experienced players who any side would miss."
