Bus services to run again on Saturday as two game trial begins
Oxford United are pleased to announce that the bus services which run to and from matches will be running again for the next two home games.
Tappins coaches stepped in to help the club run these services for the last home match against Gillingham and will once again be running the buses this Saturday as United welcome Accrington Stanley to the Kassam Stadium, and for the following home game against Dagenham and Redbridge on Tuesday November 6th.
However, this is a two match trial for these services while the club and Tappins evaluate whether each service is financially viable.
United's Business Development Manager Owen Clark explained:
"We recognise that the buses offer a cheap and easy way for fans to get to games, but equally they need to make sense for the club financially. The previous operators, RH Coaches, were prepared to run these services independently but now the club and Tappins would be responsible if the routes continue.
"To be transparent with fans, one bus ran to the last game with just four people on board. Clearly if that continues then that route would not make sense. However, with the uncertainty over whether the buses would run at all for that particular game we want to take a look over the next two games and gather more information and feedback.
"If enough fans use the buses then they will continue."
