Accrington Preview

19 October 2012

We look forward to tomorrow's big game

We look ahead to tomorrow's npower League 2 game at home to Accrington Stanley.

Team News
United are looking to return to winning ways after Monday night's defeat to Port Vale and Chris Wilder is set to hand Andy Whing his first start of the season while Jon-Paul Pittman is hoping to be involved after returning to training this week.

Jake Wright will miss the game due to suspension but Alfie Potter and Tony Capaldi will be in contention for starting places after coming off the bench on Monday and Lee Cox and Wayne Brown are fit again.

However, Damian Batt and Peter Leven are very doubtful for tomorrow's game while Liam Davis and Michael Duberry are still unavailable.

See Chris Wilder and Andy Whing previewing the game as well as a fantastic edition of 'Teammates' with Alfie Potter  in Yellow Player, available now on FREE TRIAL for 14 days.

The Opposition

Accrington will be hoping for an improved performance tomorrow after a disappointing 3-1 defeat at Torquay last weekend.

Top scorer Padraig Amond told www.accringtonstanley.co.uk after last weekend: "We deserved to get beaten the way we did and it probably should have been worse given the way we played.

"We started badly and went away from what the manager had asked us to do from the very start and we got worse and worse. The sad thing about it all is that when we scored the goal if we'd held out for five or ten minutes I felt we'd win the game."

Amond said ahead of today's game: "We have to pick ourselves up. We just have to try to get back to winning ways and get ourselves back up the table."
