Newquay next for Oxford United Ladies in the FA Women's Cup

United's Ladies team successfully came through their FA Women's Cup first round tie against Battersea Ironsides on Sunday with a comprehensive 5-0 win. Manager Richard Blackmore told www.oufc.co.uk:

"The first half performance was difficult because they set up without any strikers, which meant we had to find a way to break them down because they had everyone behind the ball.  But then after half time we came out firing on all cylinders again and the goals started to go in.

"The goals came from Natasha Caswell, Holly Pickett, Dan Anderson and two from Lauren Allison.

"It was a good day with lots of fans coming along and great to see Chris Wilder and some of the first team squad there to support the Ladies team."

The ladies now play Newquay Ladies in the next round on Sunday 9th December.
