Coach's reaction as United progress in the FA Youth Cup
Youth Team Coach Chris Allen was delighted with his side as United's under 18's went through to the second round of the FA Youth Cup last night.United were made to fight all the way for their win by an enthusiastic Yeovil side, but two goals from James Roberts and second half strikes from Jermaine Udumaga and Callum O'Dowda earned United a 4-2 win and the chance to host Plymouth Argyle in the Second Round.
Chris told www.oufc.co.uk:
"I'm really pleased for the lads. I thought we controlled the game for long periods and at times our forward play was brilliant. The way we went forward as a team was great to see and we showed terrific energy and creativity. It was a typical cup tie in many ways but we made it through safely and now we have the chance to take on Plymouth Argyle in the next round.
"If I was being critical then we had two defensive lapses at corners to let Yeovil back into the game, but even then we showed plenty of character and I thought we deserved to go through on the night."
