13 wins in a row for under 18s
United's under-18 side made it an incredible 13 straight wins in competitive matches with a 1-0 win over Swindon Town on Saturday.
Substitute Leon Lalor-Dell grabbed the only goal of the game, and coach Chris Allen was delighted with his side:
"We didn't start at our best in all honesty, we were giving the ball away in all areas and not looking ourselves. It was a derby game and the tackles were flying in as you would expect but we battled away and got to half-time 0-0.
"In the second half we passed it better and had more penetration and a good ball set Leon through and he scored off the post. It wasn't perhaps the cleanest strike but sometimes those deceive the keeper and go in.
"After that we should have had more goals because we created chances late on. We have been very good in front of goal this season but just had one of those days where chances went begging.
"But I am delighted with the clean sheet. We haven't had many of those, usually scoring a few but conceding one or two as well, so I was buzzing that we didn't conceded and looked solid at the back."
It sets the week up nicely with the youth team in action against Barnsley at Thame United on Tuesday night in the FA Youth Cup.
"That's a big game," Chris told us. "Barnsley are a good passing side and will be dangerous opposition. They are a Championship club and we know it will be hard, but we are in good form ourselves and the lads are really looking forward to the match."
