Andy Melville previews Saturday's big match

United head for Morecambe tomorrow looking to build  on a five game unbeaten run. The U's' last four games have ended win-draw-win-draw so they will be looking to carry that pattern on at the Globe Arena.

First team coach Andy Melville is hoping to see his side go one better than last weekend’s draw with Aldershot.

“There are three points at stake again. We have had a lot of cup games recently and done OK in those, so let’s get back to the league and hopefully winning ways” he told Yellow Player.

The U’s had their midweek game at home to Accrington Stanley postponed until next Tuesday night, but according to the former Wales defender the rest may work in their favour:

“Some of the lads coming back from injury need game time, but one or two little knocks will benefit from the extra couple of days, so hopefully  they will be that little bit fitter and stronger going into the game.”

The game will probably come too soon for Michael Duberry who is in the final stages of his comeback after a long-standing neck injury. He played a behind closed doors friendly yesterday, and former centre-half Melville saw plenty of encouraging signs:

“Michael did well. He has been training hard behind the scenes and he is coming back strong. He just needs a bit more confidence in it but he is getting the movement and came through 45 minutes today. He is not a million miles away now.”

With the cold weather United have changed their training pattern this week, but look in good shape ahead of tomorrow’s game:

“It’s been really good. We have been on the 3G pitch down at Oxford City because the training ground has been so hard, but it’s a good surface down there and the passing and the tempo have been really good in the sessions there. The lads have been full of enthusiasm and can’t wait to play now, especially with the game being called off in midweek. We will travel up on Friday morning and train at Bolton, which should be good, and with the weather forecast better for the weekend we are all looking forward to the game.”
