Help us spread some smiles at Christmas time
The Oxford United first team squad will be visiting our good friends at the Oxford Children’s Hospital on Tuesday 18th December.
The players and management will be dropping in to meet the staff and the children on the ward and to give out presents and gifts.
Community Officer Peter Rhoades-Brown is asking for some help from the fans once again. He told us:
“We always look forward to seeing everyone at the Children’s Hospital. It is such a fantastic facility for Oxford and for Oxfordshire and we are very lucky to have it on our doorstep. The kids on the wards love to meet the players, and every year the first team squad put in to a kitty to buy a few presents for those children.
“Once again we are asking the fans to help us as well. So many of our supporters will have visited the Children’s Hospital at some stage and we would love fans to help us to help those kids who maybe won’t be lucky enough to go home for Christmas
“We are asking for donations of toys, games, or anything you think might help. A set of colouring pens, a video game: anything you can spare to bring a smile to one of the children’s faces.
“If you would like to help, then bring a present in to reception on Saturday when we take on Aldershot Town. You can bring things in during the week as well, and we will store them up and then give them out on the wards on our visit.
“The fans have really got behind this over the last few years and we would love your support once again.”
If you would like to help then bring in gifts to reception on Saturday. These can be wrapped if you wish, but please label them if possible with the contents, so we can make sure that the right presents go to the right people.
