Defender to sign non-contract terms with the U's
United hope to sign young defender Alex Evans on non-contract terms, subject to international clearance.
The 19-year old centre-half is a product of Cardiff City's youth set up and has been training with United throughout pre-season. The six foot two Welsh defender will go into the squad as cover for Harry Worley, whose recovery from injury will take a little longer than expected.
Manager Chris Wilder said:
"The medical advice we have received on Harry is that he is still a couple of weeks away from being available. He has been out for a long time so there is no point rushing the final stages of his recovery, so Alex will come in and help us out and we will take it from there."
Alex told us:
"I've really enjoyed my time here, it's a great set up and the lads have made me feel very welcome. Now I have a little longer to show what I can do and hopefully help the team and impress."
