Sean Cane
My name is Sean Cane I am 59 Years old and have been supporting Oxford United since 1970.
Oxford United is more than a football Club it is about Community, Identity and Pride.
I believe that my Passion for Oxford United would make me an ideal Candidate to join the Oxford United Advisory Board.
I attend all Home Matches and the majority of Away Games.
I believe that football should be fully inclusive and, as such, I am currently Club Secretary of both Barton United FC and Headington Amateurs FC.
I have previously served as a committee member on The Oxfordshire Youth Football League, so am well versed in working with other Members on committees and would work very closely with the other members of the Advisory Board.
If I am successful in being elected to the Advisory Board I will work to ensure that fans' voices are heard at all Levels and will represent you with pride, honesty, integrity and commitment.

I have supported Oxford for as long as I can remember and currently have a season ticket in the South Stand with my brother! My work for the Oxfordshire FA in football development allows me to engage regularly with those volunteering and playing in Oxfordshire, ensuring football is constantly evolving within the county. I get to meet, engage with and support with the aspirations of the clubs across the county as well as understanding each individual’s ambitions and feeding back to The FA on the grassroots clubs within Oxfordshire.
I completed a Masters in Football Business studying modules on fan engagement, club operations, finance and more. Combining this theoretical knowledge with my practical experience would allow me to be a well-rounded Fan Advisory Board member. I want all fans to feel they have a voice, that it matters to the club and that it is relayed to the club with such importance. To be able to play in part in communicating the thoughts and feelings of the fanbase would be a huge honour.
Steve Harris
Being born in the John Radcliffe hospital overlooking the Manor Ground I was always going to be an Oxford United fan.
I saw my first game in 1985, and I have been going ever since. I currently reside (along with my three children!) in the north stand.
I've been there through the highs and the lows, but one thing is certain, my passion for this club means that I want to ensure the supporters have a voice in what is a vital period coming up for our club.
If voted in, I will be a representative who will listen to the entire fan base, young fans and older fans, season ticket holders, and newer fans.
I will be accessible and always try and provide a constructive bridge between the supporters and the club's executive management.
Oxford United is entering an exciting new era and making sure the supporters have a voice is so important to me, now more than ever with the new stadium coming up.
I want to share my passion for this club and make sure I serve it and represent it effectively.
Thank you for considering my application to help form a bright future for our football club.

Over my two years on the Fan Advisory Board, I have brought a perspective that isn't always heard around the table: that of a newer, first-time supporters. Since I moved to the UK in 2019, Oxford United has played a massive part in helping me settle - it made building a new life far easier than I expected, giving me a real sense of community before I could find one anywhere else. Because of this, I know firsthand how important it is to grow our fanbase among Oxford's large population of students and newcomers, making them lifelong supporters who stay and put down roots in our city, like me and my family.
To support that growth and improve the experience for all fans, I have drawn on football experience from the three other countries I lived in to bring in proven ideas on matchday atmosphere, accessibility, and keeping clubs genuinely connected to their supporters. I have also used my research background to help gathering fan views in a structured, evidence-based way, so that the quieter voices are heard just as clearly as the loudest.
Oxford United belongs to all of us, from lifelong generations of fans to those stepping into the stadium for the very first time. If re-elected, I will keep representing you with determination to ensure every single supporter feels they have a place here.
Mark Taylor
I was born in Oxford, my Grandad played for Headington and my Mum was a Manorette – so you could say Oxford United is in my blood! Supporting Oxford is more than just watching football – it is a lifelong bond with the club, the city and the people you share it with through the highs and the lows.
I want to represent supporters on the Fan Advisory Board because I care deeply about protecting the interests of our loyal fanbase, making the game accessible for everyone, and helping our club grow and inspire the next generation of supporters – including my three boys.
Whatever happens on the pitch, in the dugout or in the boardroom, the fans are always there. I want to help ensure supporters' views are listened to, respected and represented as Oxford United continues its journey.
COYY!
John Kirkland
As a season-ticket holder, Oxford United has become a big part of my family's life, and on matchdays you'll find me in the Family Stand with my young family. As a primary school teacher and deputy headteacher in Littlemore, a short distance from the Kassam Stadium, I see every day the importance of community, inclusion and ensuring that everyone's voice is heard.
I am standing for the Fan Advisory Board because I want to represent supporters' views honestly and constructively. I especially want to support those who may not always feel their views are heard, particularly families, young supporters and those who rely on the club's accessibility provision. My family regularly uses the North Stand sensory room on matchdays, giving me first-hand experience of how important these facilities are in helping every supporter enjoy their football and feel part of the Oxford United community.
In my professional role as a teacher, I work closely with children, families, colleagues and the wider community. Listening carefully, communicating clearly and bringing different viewpoints together are central to my work, and they are qualities I would bring to the Fan Advisory Board.
Oxford United is entering an exciting new chapter. As the club grows and develops, it is vital that the matchday experience remains welcoming, accessible and affordable for all supporters. I want to help ensure that those who have followed Oxford United for many years continue to feel valued, while also helping to support the next generation of U's supporters.
If elected, I will be approachable, open and committed to engaging with supporters from across the fanbase. I will represent their views fairly, always with the long-term interests of Oxford United and its supporters at heart.
