Ready for the Robins

Oxford United get set to face Cheltenham Town in Sky Bet League 2

United look to get back to winning ways on Tuesday night as they welcome Cheltenham Town in Sky Bet League 2.

The U’s were beaten at home by Burton on Saturday but have a chance to put things right against The Robins as Mickey Lewis told Yellow Player.

“You want to play again as quickly as possible after a defeat and a home game against a local rival is a good game to have next. We were all hurting a little bit after Saturday but there is no time to feel sorry for yourself in football, you just have to come in to training on Monday with a positive attitude and put all your energy into Tuesday night.”

United will have to do without striker Dave Kitson after he limped off with a hamstring problem on Saturday but David Connolly was a more than able replacement in that game.

“He did really well” Mickey said. “He looked dangerous, he makes clever runs, links play well and has scored goals for us. He is an excellent professional and although Kits won’t play we do have one or two other options.”
