League 2 Family Club of the Year 2012/13
We are proud to have been recognised in the Family Club of the Year Football League Awards for each of the last three seasons. The award recognises the club that best demonstrates outstanding delivery of activity to attract and retain families at games and is based upon assessment visits made to clubs for Family Excellence Awards.
The Family Area
The family area at the Kassam Stadium offers a friendly and safe environment for all family groups to enjoy the game. It is situated in the South Stand Lower Tier, in Blocks 1, 2 and half of Block 3. The family area is accessed via turnstiles 3-4, which are located adjacent to the glass-fronted Quadrangle Bar at the stadium. Tickets for under 16s in the family area are reduced to just £4 when purchased in advance. The family area is clearly marked when booking tickets online at www.oufctickets.co.uk, or alternatively call a member of our team on 01865 337533 and we will be pleased to help you. If it is your first visit, let us know and we can tell you where to park, eat, and how best to enjoy your visit.
Meet the first team players, try your hand at exciting competitions and have your picture taken as part of the team - all in the family area at every home game.
Accompanied under 7s are admitted free of charge to all league games at Oxford United. Did you know that the average age that a child chooses their football team is age 7? We do, and we want them to choose Oxford United. As the future of our club they can therefore come along completely free until their 7th birthday. You can pre-book under-7s tickets online (when booking alongside an adult ticket) or by calling us on 01865 337533.
Olly the Ox
Olly the Ox is our friendly mascot. Olly is at every home game and loves to meet and greet young fans. He can often be seen meeting families in the family area, so don't miss your photo opportunity with our famous mascot. He is also available to come along and add a bit of fun to fetes and special days at schools. Call 01865 337514 to check if Olly is available. You can follow Olly on Facebook: add Olly the Ox as a friend. He also has a friend: Olivia, who is with him at every United game.
We read out birthday announcements at half-time at every home game at the Kassam Stadium. If you would like a birthday request just email firstname.lastname@example.org with a simple email stating: the birthday person's name (and age if appropriate), where they sit, and who the message is for. (As an example "Happy birthday to Peter Ryan, aged 12 today, in the East Stand. Love from Mum, Dad, Heidi, and all of your family.")
Guard of Honour
Oxford United is proud to give local youth football clubs the chance of a lifetime: to be United's Guard of Honour. This opportunity allows local youth clubs to step onto the pitch and form a guard to welcome the teams before they kick-off.
This is a great opportunity for kids and parents to be more involved with Oxford United and provide them with a memory that they will never forget. Our goal is to establish new relationships with future supporters as well as to give something to the local community, with the opportunity to have your team recognised.
There are still fixtures available for this season, so we encourage anyone who is interested to either email Rob Lees at email@example.com or call 01865 337518.
