Max joined United on a long-term deal from Liverpool for an undisclosed fee at the start of August 2023. He came through the ranks at Anfield after joining at the age of seven and made his debut against AC Milan in the Champions League at the San Siro. He joined Doncaster Rovers on loan in September 2022 but was recalled by the Reds in January.
