Marcus returned to Oxford from Middlesbrough on a two-and-a-half-year contract in January 2022 for an undisclosed fee. He had previously had two very successful loan spells with the U’s, first from West Ham in July 2018 for the full season and then from Middlesbrough in January 2020 until the end of that season.
