Joe Nicholls Joins the Backroom Team

10 February 2016

Joe to help the U's

Oxford United are pleased to welcome Joe Nicholls to the backroom team.

Joe, 35, will be working directly for Alycidon Technologies, which is owned by the Chairman, Darryl Eales.

He will, however, spend the majority of his time supporting the club’s activities, especially covering Commercial, Operations and Community, as well as naturally supporting Chris Williams and Sarah Gooding on Communications and Fan Engagement.

Joe will be primary based at the Kassam Stadium and, importantly, will still be available to support and actually help with the Yellow Army and fan participation generally.

Joe said: "It’s a dream come true. I have supported Oxford United all my life. I have been helping to spread the word and working with the club on a voluntary basis, along with a lot of fans, just because we want to be involved and help make a difference.

“A while back the Chairman spoke to me and asked if I would like to turn that into something a little more formal, working both for the club as well as helping with his other businesses.

“It was a big decision and I talked it over with my partner and family, but it turned out to be very simple.  I am passionate about helping this club go forward and building on the amazing progress that has happened over the last 18 months, and I can’t wait to get started, especially at such an exciting time."

Chairman Darryl Eales welcomed Joe:

"Joe has done a tremendous job behind the scenes to help bring the fans and the club together, along with the indefatigable Yellow Army volunteers. We are all passionate about fan engagement and building a 'One Club' mentality and having Joe on-board will help continue this momentum.

"He is a hard worker, a good communicator, and he cares deeply about Oxford United.  The first thing he said to me when we talked about him working here was 'only if you think it will help the club'. That’s a great attitude to have and he will fit in perfectly with the work ethic and the passionate culture that underpins the club.”
