A Dan Crowley brace gives United a win in development game at Cheltenham

Two second-half goals from Dan Crowley earned United a 2-1 win against Cheltenham Town's reserves after the U's were trailing at the interval.

Although Oxford were mostly on top in the first half, it was Cheltenham who took the lead five minutes before the break when Aston Villa loanee Easah Suliman rose highest to head home from a corner.

United started the second half strongly, with Cheltenham keeper Calum Kitscha making two good saves to keep the Robins ahead. However, their lead lasted for just eight minutes of the second period before Crowley outpaced the home defence, latched on to a long clearance and powered an angled shot past Kitscha to level the scores.

Just four minutes later the U's were thankful to Benji Buchel, who pulled off a flying save to deny Arthur. This was to prove pivotal as two minutes afterwards Oxford took the lead. Crowley stormed into the area but was brought down by Suliman and stepped up himself to convert the spot kick. Kitscha then made another good save to deny Crowley his hat-trick.

The home side rallied, with Billy Waters hitting the post and Buchel making two more fine stops, but United saw out the remaining few minutes to win the game 2-1.
