Date of birth
As a youth, Yanic played for various Dutch sides, starting with the famous Ajax academy. From there, he joined Zwolle in 2010, where he made his Eerste Divisie debut. He also played for Venlo and Heerenveen before coming to England in 2014 to join Middlesbrough. A loan at Wigan was made permanent and he helped the Latics to promotion from League One, being name in the PFA Team of the Year and earning a move to Norwich. Loans to Cardiff and Bolton followed before Yanic went to Israel to play for Maccabi Haifa in 2019. He joined CSKA Sofia in 2021, from where he moved to Oxford in July 2022 on a two-year contract. Yanic was capped 10 times for the Netherlands U21 side and has won five full caps for Suriname.
