A solid box-to-box midfielder, Shandon joined United as a scholar from Reading. Despite being injured, he was offered a six-month professional deal in May 2017. This was extended for one-and-a-half years in December 2017, shortly before he was loaned to Hampton & Richmond Borough. He signed a four-and-a-half-year deal in September 2018 and was named captain for the visit of Manchester City in the Carabao Cup later that month.
