Oxford United signed Sam Winnall on 11th September 2020. The 29-year-old forward has always been a goal threat ever since his early days at Wolverhampton Wanderers. After loan spells at Burton, Hereford and Shrewsbury, he made his name at Scunthorpe where he was leading scorer in League 2 in his first season. He continued that form when he moved to Barnsley, scoring 24 goals in 2015/16 to help them win promotion to the Championship. A move to Sheffield Wednesday followed, with a loan to Derby County during that time.
