United signed former Plymouth captain Curtis in July 2016 following seven years with the Pilgrims. He joined Plymouth as a youth-team player in 2009 after starting with Stoke City’s academy. He signed professionally in 2010 and won the Young Player of the Year award in his first season. Curtis made over 230 appearances for Plymouth before the commanding central defender signed for the U’s.
