A Les Robinson Oxford United XI will play a Liverpool Legends XI on Monday May 7th at the Kassam Stadium, in the former United defender's long awaited testimonial match.
Only five players have made more appearances for the U’s than the popular full back, who featured 458 times after signing in 1990.
Liverpool are one of only two clubs Robinson did not play against during his career and now he will get the chance – 17 years after leaving United.
Former United team mate John Durnin helped arrange for a Liverpool Legends XI to appear to honour Robinson. Former Liverpool stars including Paul Walsh and former U’s player Mark Wright have already agreed to play.
Robinson said: “I can’t wait for the dinner and the match, it will mean the world to me to put the United kit on again and lead the team out.
“I am so grateful and am really looking forward to it. Durns has done us proud getting Liverpool to town and I am sure it will be a fantastic occasion for everybody.”
The eagerly awaited match will kick off at 2pm on the Bank Holiday Monday.
