Goals from Josh Anifowose and Gatlin O’Donkor gave United’s under 18s a 2-1 win over AFC Wimbledon on Saturday in the EFL Merit League

Coach Chris Hackett told us

“It was a positive away performance, especially in the heat. We played with a young side, the majority of them from our under 16s and first year scholars and they all stood up to the challenge against a very physical and experienced Wimbledon side.

“The boys scored two well worked goals in the first half, one for Josh Anifowose assisted by Gatlin O’Donkor who then got a goal for himself later on, rounding off an outstanding performance from him.

“Wimbledon pulled a goal back but the boys stood up to the challenge and defended really well in some tough moments to see out the win.”
