The second-leading goalscorer in the Scottish Premier League for 2015/16, Kane signed a three-year contract with the U’s in July 2016 after joining for an undisclosed fee. After three years as a youth with Tamworth, Kane joined Glasgow giants Rangers, where he appeared in three Scottish Youth Cup finals and captained the U19 side. In January 2013 Kane moved to Cowdenbeath on loan and after his release by Rangers he signed for them permanently. He was the PFA Scottish Championship Player of the Year for 2013/14 and was selected for the Scottish Championship Team of the Year. Kane joined Barnsley in June 2014 before joining Dundee the following May.
