Leo roars back
Team News
United boss Ramon Diaz must fill a left sided hole tomorrow, with both Mateo Corbo and Matt Robinson ruled out of the trip to Cambridge through suspension.
Both players have accumulated five yellow cards, in Corbo's case in only six games (!), and sit out one match
That opens the door for either Terry Parker or Lee Molyneaux to fill in at left back, with Leo Roget likely to partner Jon Ashton at centre back. Roget returns to the squad after his own one match suspension. Dave Woozley is also available again after recent illness.
In front of the back four there are unlikely to be many changes, with Juan Pablo Raponi continuing on the left of midfield and Craig Davies, who made his full debut against Cambridge in December, partnering Tommy
Mooney up front.
Paul Wanless may once again be on the bench in two roles: he is emergency back up keeper if Simon Cox fails to recover from injury. Hear Wanny talking about his three appearances for Cambridge in goal in Yellow World&
The Opposition
Iwan Roberts will decide today whether to join Cambridge on loan.
Steve Thompson has confirmed that he has held talks with the former Norwich striker about a loan move.
"I've told him he would be very welcome here. He's a good pro, and he would good for the players and for the fans," the manager told Cambridge's official website
"Stan Ternant is happy for him to come here and he's a good friend of (assistant manager) Rob Newman. To be fair to Iwan, money hasn't been an issue in our talks. I'm selling the club to him on a footballing basis and he is thinking it over because his decision has to be the right one for him and his family.
"He's promised me an answer within the next 24 hours."
The 36-year-old Wales international started out at Huddersfield before successful spells at Leicester and Wolves, but he is best known for his exploits at Norwich. He spent seven seasons at Carrow Road, scoring 84 goals in 268 league appearances in Division One and the Premiership, before moving to Gillingham on a free transfer last summer.
Meanwhile, Leyton Orient's Tom Newey has extended his loan spell at the Abbey Stadium by a further month. His initial one month loan expired after Tuesday's win against Cheltenham. The club have also reached agreement with Scunthorpe United to extend Stevland Angus' loan spell until the beginning of May, although this has been done with a view to a permanent move being finalised.
