More than 250 supporters were in attendance as Oxford United held yet another successful Fans Forum.
Owner Ian Lenagan, Chairman Kelvin Thomas, Manager Chris Wilder, Youth & Community Director Simon Lenagan, General Manager Mick Brown and Adrian Lenagan were all present as supporters were treated to a two-hour Forum that included both a slideshow presentation and a question and answer session.
Following a brief introduction from Chairman Kelvin Thomas attendees were given a positive and well-detailed walk through the club's financial standings, confirming that the club succeeded in becoming a profitable business during the 2009/10 season and outlining projection to increase this profit during the forthcoming campaign. Ian Lenagan also confirmed that the club are continuing to make small yet purposeful strides regarding potential ownership of the Kassam Stadium.
There were further presentations with both Simon Lenagan and Kelvin Thomas regarding everything from the club's thriving Youth Development scheme to the massive strides made by the club over the past season, as well as a discussion regarding the playing staff and expectations for the coming campaign.
The club also confirmed that Jim Rosenthal will officially become a member of the Board of Directors for the 2010/11 season, with an exciting new project also being launched alongside supporters' trust OxVox; details of which will appear right here on www.oufc.co.uk at 8am tomorrow morning.
Following the completion of the presentation fans were given the opportunity to put any and all questions to club officials. Subjects discussed included the club's new home strip, relations between the club and the stadium company, the financial benefits of promotion, stewarding and health & safety and first team transfer activity.
With proceedings coming to an end on the stroke of 9pm, United chairman Kelvin Thomas was enthusiastic with the outcome of what many regarded as a highly successful and worthwhile evening.
