Oxford United have made another major signing ahead of the new season with defender Jake Wright joining on a three year deal.
Jake needs no introduction to U's fans after excelling on loan from Brighton through the second half of last season and starring in the play-off final win at Wembley. He arrives on a free transfer and Chairman Kelvin Thomas was delighted to welcome Jake to the club on a permanent basis:

He has experience at a higher level and I know he is very excited about coming to Oxford. It is also pleasing that the 12th Man was able to help to push this deal over the line and help Jake to relocate to the Oxfordshire area.
"We identified four of our loan players from last year to bring in on long term contracts and we have succeeded in signing four out of four. Jake has been available on a free transfer and it is an excellent deal for this football club."
Manager Chris Wilder added:
"Jake did very well for us last season and we are very pleased that he has signed. He is hungry for success here and wants to do well with the club. He is a good age and fits with the way we are trying to build the squad and team here so he will be a great asset as we go back into the Football League."

We have a great team spirit and a great belief and I want to be part of that. The fans at Wembley were brilliant and this is where I want to play my football."
