United have already begun to strengthen their squad for next season with midfielder Asa Hall agreeing a two year deal.
The 23 year old attacking midfielder began as a trainee at Wolves before signing for Birmingham City. He then had loan spells at Boston United and Shrewsbury Town before signing for Luton Town in 2008 where scored fifteen times in 2008/9 plus five times for The Hatters in 27 starts last season, playing in both games against United. An England under 19 and under 20 international the six foot two player is highly rated and manager Chris Wilder was pleased to unveil his new signing:
"Asa scored fifteen goals in League Two from midfield and can play all across the middle of the park. He wanted to play in the Football League and has had a few offers so I'm delighted that he has agreed to join us. He gives us plenty of options and will add to what we already have. "
Meanwhile four players have been told that they will not be offered new deals when their contracts expire. Goalkeeper Billy Turley, defender Kev Sandwith, midfielder Chris Hargreaves and striker Franny Green will all leave the Kassam Stadium.
Chris Wilder said:
"It is never easy and all four of them are fantastic pros and great characters. They have all played a part for us and we wish them well for the future."
Lewis Chalmers and John Grant have already returned to Aldershot after their loan spells ended while Jamie Cook has been told that he can find another club; his name will be circulated as available for a transfer.
