Sam signs new deal with the U's
United have had a major boost with midfielder Sam Deering agreeing a new two year deal with the club.
The popular 19 year old has been in fine form since re-establishing himself in the side after a broken leg, and was pleased to pledge his future to The U's:
"I am enjoying my football and it is great to be part of what is happening here. The manager and coaches have been great with me and I feel that my game is developing all the time. The whole club is moving forwards and I want to try and play as big a part in that as I can. The fans in particular have been brilliant with me and I would love to give them something to celebrate this season and over the next couple of years."
Chris Wilder said:
"I think this is very positive news for the club. Sam has so much promise and provided he works hard and listens to the right people then he has a bright future ahead of him. He has that spark to his game and plays with his heart on his sleeve, which is why the fans have taken to him so much. We are building a young side based on good football and Sam is very much part of our plans for the future."
Chairman Kelvin Thomas said:
"It is great news that we have been able to agree a new deal with Sam. He has really proved himself coming back from injury, and I think he see's what is happening at this football club right now and I am pleased he wants to be part of that. Sam is a fan's favorite and I am sure they will want to show their appreciation tonight at the Hayes and Yeading game for him committing to a longer term future with the club."
