The Wright Stuff?
Boss Chris Wilder believes that United have the right people in the squad to cover for the absence of both Anthony Tonkin and Kev Sandwith as The U's welcome Hayes and Yeading United tomorrow night.
Tonkin serves a one game ban after a red card at former club Cambridge a week ago while the unlucky Sandwith misses the opportunity to reclaim the left back spot after cracking a rib in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup game at Oxford City. Sandwith is likely to be sidelined for two weeks.
However United have two ready made replacements vying for the position, as Wilder told Yellow Player:
"It's unfortunate for Kev because he would have come straight into the side, but we have a squad that can cope. Jake Wright has played plenty of games at left back and I have seen him have some very good games there when we were at Halifax. And we also have Simon Clist who played there for much of the season when Barnet won this division. I would have no problem playing either of them there."
Lewis Chalmers is involved for the first time since his arrival on loan from Aldershot, and the best news for United fans is that James Constable could be available once again:
"Beano is getting closer and joined in training yesterday so he won't be a million miles away. Alfie Potter trained for the first time as well and Adam Murray is back in full training so that is all pretty positive as we approach two huge home games."
It's the key stage of the season. Be sure you are here to see United take on Hayes & Yeading on Tuesday and Kettering on Saturday. Call 01865 337533 or book online HERE.
