Wright man for the job
Oxford United have made their second signing in less than 24 hours with Brighton & Hove Albion central defender Jake Wright joining the Yellows on loan until the end of the season.
After starting his professional career as a trainee at Bradford City in the summer of 2003, Wright joined Halifax Town - then managed by curruent Us boss Chris Wilder - on loan for the first three months of the 2005/2006 season. After returning to Valley Parade for the remainder of the season, Halifax captured his signature on a permanent basis in the summer of 2006. He would go on to make more than sixty league and cup appearances for the club before moving to Crawley Town following Halifax's demise in June 2008, appearing more than forty times before moving to League One with Brighton for an undisclosed fee in August of this year.
A Yorkshire native, United boss Chris Wilder is delighted to have captured the left sided centre half's signature for the third time.
"We've looked to lift the squad yet again and we believe that we've done that with Lee and now Jake," says Wilder. "I've always been on the look out for a left-footed centre half and Jake gives us that natural balance. He's a player that I've had before so I know a lot about his character, and he's a player that I believe will definitely add to our quality."
