Creighton joins the U's

Posted on: Tue 12 May 2009

United have strengthened their squad with the signing of Kidderminster Harriers' captain Mark Creighton.

Creighton, 27, is a six foot four centre half who dominates in the air and has been a big favourite with the fans at Aggborough throughout his 158 starts. Captain for the last two seasons, Creighton was the Harriers' Player of the Year in 2006/7 and 2007/8 and joins the U's for an undisclosed fee on a three year deal.

Boss Chris Wilder said:

"Mark is not only a fine defender but he is also one of those players that fans love because they will run through a brick wall for their team. He is a winner, a leader and will be a major asset to this club. This is a hard, tough league and Mark has been one of the best defenders in it for three seasons now and I am delighted that he has signed for us."
