United have completed their first signing of the summer with Kevin Sandwith signing a one year deal with the club.

The experienced defender joined United from Weymouth on a short term deal in February and started twelve times towards the end of the season, scoring once. He proved his versatility by appearing at left back and centre half and celebrated his 31st birthday today by signing for the U's.

He told us:

"I have enjoyed my football and what has happened at Oxford and am really happy to get a longer chance here. Last season was one of upheaval for me with what happened at Weymouth but the way we played here at the end of the season was a pleasure to be involved in.

"I spoke to the gaffer and the chairman about their plans for next season and know that they, and the whole club, are really ambitious. I'm glad I have the chance to be a part of that."
