Oxford United's under-18s start their Merit League campaign with a home game against AFC Bournemouth at Abingdon United's Northcourt Road (OX14 1PL) on Saturday (11am kick off).The U's did the double over the Cherries in the regular Football League Youth Alliance, most recently winning 2-1 in January, and come up against the Premier League side again as they commence the second part of the season.
Coaches Andy Whing and Leon Blackmore-Such will probably use the opportunity to take a look at some of the club's promising under-16 players who will be hoping to step up to youth team action next season.
