Striker joins the U's until January
Oxford United have completed the signing of highly rated West Bromwich Albion forward Tyler Roberts on loan until January.
The 17-year-old made headlines when named on the bench for West Brom at the age of 16 and made his debut against Liverpool at just 17. Able to play up front or out wide Roberts has played for Wales at under 17 and 19 level and been invited to train with Chris Coleman’s senior side.
United Head Coach Michael Appleton said
“Tyler’s an exciting player who has pace, plenty of skill and an eye for goal. He’s very mature for someone so young and we believe will be an excellent addition to the squad. A lot of people within football believe he has the talent to play at the highest level and this will be a fantastic chance for him to start showing what he can do on a regular basis.”
