great gesture from Oxvox as Oxfordshire heads for the arch

Youngsters from Rose Hill Primary School are going to Wembley to support the U’s thanks to the generosity of Supporters’ Trust Oxvox.

Oxvox have kindly provided tickets for the year 6 groups from Rose Hill Primary School to join the U’s at Wembley when they take on Coventry City in the final of the Checkatrade Trophy on Sunday April 2nd.

Kate Longworth, Head of Oxford United in the Community, told us:

“It’s a fantastic gesture from Oxvox. It means that  the youngsters at Rose Hill Primary get a great day out at Wembley to support their local club, and we hope it inspires them to join the next generation of Oxford fans who have been enjoying the team’s success over the last few years.”

Jem Faulkner of Oxvox said:

“As a Supporters Trust, we’re thrilled to be able to get in involved and happy to be supporting Oxford United in the Community and all the people that they work so hard with to improve lives.

“The monies are coming from the Trust’s own funds, rather than a specific fundraising event as we’ve done in the past.
“We now have approaching 900 members and membership has more than doubled in the last couple of years. All our members will be sent details of the initiative this  week and we’ll be thanking them for allowing us to use their membership fees in this way. Needless to say, all the members we’ve spoken with have been more than happy to give their support. “

Sue Vermes, Headteacher of Rose Hill Primary School, added

“We thank Oxvox and the club for helping us take these children to Wembley for what I am sure will be a day they never forget. It looks like the whole of Oxfordshire is heading for Wembley and we are very proud to be a part of a fantastic occasion.”
