Oxford United trio go out on loan

29 August 2014

Shama, Bevans and Hawtin get loan opportunities

Three Oxford United youngsters have gone out on loan, with Aidan Hawtin and Josh Shama joining Banbury United and Matt Bevans linking up with Farnborough.

Striker Shama and the versatile Hawtin who can play in midfield or further forward, have yet to make a senior appearance for the U’s but will spend a month on youth loan at the Spencer Stadium and will be part of the squad that travels to Frome Town tomorrow. Former Watford defender Bevans made 11 appearances for the U’s last season but the arrival of Joe Riley has limited his chances this season and he will join Farnborough of the Vanarama Conference South, also for a month.

Head Coach Michael Appleton said:

“At this stage in their career all three of them need to be playing competitive games regularly. We believe the loans will help them in that respect.”
