TEAM NEWS
New signing striker Will Hoskins stands by to make his home debut as the U's look to get their first points on the board. The 28-year-old former Brighton forward made his first appearance at West Brom in the Capital One Cup and showed an impressive glimpse of what he can offer, grabbing an excellent assist for Danny Hylton’s equalising goal. Hoskins is likely to be involved, either from the start or coming off the bench, but left winger Junior Brown is suspended after being shown two yellow cards in the match at the Hawthorns. Alfie Potter, Callum O’Dowda and Alex Jakubiak compete to take his place, with on-loan Jakubiak then joining the Scotland under 19 squad on Sunday for two games against the Czech Republic

Head Coach Michael Appleton was delighted with his side's character and performance at the Hawthorns and told Yellow Player:

“In the second half and in extra time I couldn’t have asked for anymore from the players. We created lots and lots of opportunities and kept the ball really well at times against a Premier League side who showed us the utmost respect with the strong side they put out”.

United are now looking to build on that strong, positive performance and Appleton said: “I hope that the performances continue because the results will soon go for us if they do".

THE OPPOSITION
Dagenham are looking for their third win in a row, the latest a 2-0 win over Mansfield, but manager Wayne Burnett is taking nothing for granted against the U's:
“I’m expecting this to be one of the toughest games that we’ve faced so far this season" he said."They’re a team that will pass and move the ball around and we have to be ready."
Dagenham will have experienced striker Jamie Cureton available while former U's right back Damian Batt could return to the squad after injury.
