Auction winner ready to give team talk as United take on Wolves
James Woollard, Managing Director of Polythene UK, is set for his moment in the limelight as he prepares to give Oxford United’s first team their team talk ahead of tonight’s pre-season friendly against Wolverhampton Wanderers (7:45pm KO).
James gained this opportunity at the club’s end of season awards dinner, where the Community Trust held a charity auction with items such as the giant first team picture and tailored shirts being bid for.
The opportunity to give a pre-match team talk was the headline of the auction and the local businessman and long term supporter of Oxford United paid £600 for the privilege of doing something that is every football fan’s dream.
This huge contribution along with all other funds raised from the evening totalled £1200 which will benefit the Oxford United Youth and Community Trust.
Polythene are the main sponsors of the Oxford United Women’s team but James has mixed emotions about addressing the first team this evening, saying: “I’m quite nervous but really excited. I’m really looking forward to giving my highly technical team talk to get the players going for the Wolves game!”
