Grundon named Family Business of the Year at Cotswold Life Family Business Awards
Oxford United would like to congratulate Grundon Waste Management for being named as the Oxfordshire winner of Family Business of the Year 2014.Grundon have been heavily involved with Oxford United Football Club for a number of years and share the same family values. Grundon are currently the sponsor of Oxford United Women’s Team and have been involved in with the youth development side for a number of years.
The awards, organised by Cotswold Life magazine, were announced at a lunchtime ceremony on Wednesday 25th June, with Grundon's Deputy Chairman Neil Grundon and CEO Richard Skehens collecting the Family Business of the Year 2014 accolade.

The company was founded by my grandfather in 1929, and both my father and I have followed in his footsteps. It’s good to see that our distinctive approach, developed over the past 85 years, has ensured that we’ve maintained our industry-leading position.
“It’s also great to be recognised by the Awards, especially as they fly the flag for family businesses across the region. Being a family business means a lot to our customers – they have recognised that working with a family business means that they receive a continuity and consistency of service. We also work with local businesses and support community activities, which certainly adds strength and diversity to the local economy.”
The Family Business of the Year award is awarded to a business that has maintained consistent growth and strong financial performance, understands its customer, has an engaged workforce with effective leadership and is continually innovating to support future growth.
