Welcome to The Manor Bar

Supporters Bar renamed after former home

Oxford United fans - the Yellow Army - have overwhelming voted to name its match-day bar 'The Manor Bar'.

In a sentimental tribute to United's former home, the bar situated in the South Stand, will be re-named for the new season, having won half the votes.

The response to the vote was fantastic with 1197 fans having their say on the new name of the bar - thank you to everyone who took part.

The Manor Bar won 50.3% of the vote, Moody's achieved 27.3% and Bar 86 received 22.4%.

The Yellow Army raises funds to improve the match-day experience and to financially support the Youth and Community Trust and the bar forms the focal point for many fans on a match-day.

Greig Box Turnbull, of the Yellow Army, said: "Naming the venue the Manor Bar will make it feel more homely. It's a name that really captures our history and judging by the vote was the name that resonated with fans. It's a name that is worthy of being above the door of our supporters' bar."

Joe Nicholls, added: "The response has been brilliant with well over a thousand fans taking the time to vote, which shows fans really value having a supporters bar. Having a decent bar to meet up in on a match-day is an important part of the day for a lot of fans, so we're keen to make this bar as good as we can."

The venue, previously called the 12th Man Bar, improved greatly last season, with the introduction of a Q&A with former U's players, the display of iconic United photos and the presentation of the man of the match award taking place in the bar. The club also benefits from a revenue share agreement with the stadium company, meaning a percentage of the profits goes back into helping the club.

The Yellow Army shop and Michael North's programme stall is located in the bar before every home game - with all profits ploughed back into Yellow Army initiatives to support the club.

The bar is free for season tickets and £1 for all other guests
