As part of Oxford United’s new business club, United in Business, members have the opportunity to present their businesses to the United fans through our award winning programme. This week we take a look at a corporate entertainment company like no other! Step forward These Charming Men.
With the festive season fast approaching, it’s getting to that time where a number of us will stress about the dreaded office party. Thankfully there are two men who can save you a great deal of hassle. This week's ‘Business of the Week’ shows a different side to our change shirt sponsors Isinglass Consulting. Day to day, the boutique firm specialises in helping businesses develop projects on pensions, reward and administration matters, however there has always been a more light hearted side to Paul Charles and Steve Mingle, which takes the form of These Charming Men.
Having worked with the club for the last two seasons, Oxford United partners These Charming Men offer a number of different entertainment packages that include a mix of the serious and the surreal. They offer quiz nights with a difference as well as team-focused game show events based on familiar TV favourites, ideal for office parties and client entertainment. These Charming Men are also Oxfordshire’s perfect choice to bring some fun and gentle competitiveness into team-building days and offsite events. “We’ve built up a wide range of tried and tested material. Our highly interactive approach and unique range of material will keep everybody entertained” said Steve.
United in Business members Steve and Paul (aka. They use hi-tech equipment to ensure that everything runs smoothly and create a real professional feel. These Charming Men even presented the auction at the 2013/14 End of Season Dinner which saw their stage presence raise over £3,000 for the Oxford United Youth and Community Trust.
Taking inspiration from Banzai, Shooting Stars and Monty Python, These Charming Men was originally formed in 2009 as part of club change shirt sponsors, Isinglass Consulting. The name is derived from their surnames –Charles and Mingle – and also references to their shared love of the work of the Smiths.
