Oxford United head for Macclesfield tonight as they look to make progress in the Emirates FA Cup. Here we have a full guide.

United boss Michael Appleton is forced into at least one change tonight with midfielder John Lundstram suspended after picking up five yellow cards this season. The skipper will be replaced by either Joe Rothwell or Josh Ruffels in the centre of the park while Alex MacDonald is expected to captain the side, as he did in the previous round at Merstham.

Aaron Martin, Ryan Taylor and Tyler Roberts may also earn recalls although Michael Appleton has suggested there won't be wholesale changes to the side that drew at leaders Scunthorpe last weekend.

Macclesfield are currently 11th in the National League and boss John Askey believes that the atmosphere and excitment around Moss Rose could help his side cause an upset tonight.

"It's a special competition and people who are normally interested in the football club it creates a lot of excitement" he told the official Macclesfield website. "It's a showcase for the players, luckily for us everybody's fit so we go into the game at full strength.

"It's massive for the football club, especially if we get through and draw one of the big boys. It changes everything in the club, it means we can survive for the next 5-10 years.  The most important thing about the FA Cup is that it's special for everybody. It's not so much about the money, it’s about doing well against better teams and create an interest.

"There's a real buzz around the town at the moment."
